Would you find it rude if the site told you to look up information yourself or would you say that they should help you set up what you have bought from them no matter how many questions you have?

I would say that it is sort of rude. A good place should try to help their clients work out their issues but sometimes pointing the client to the knowledgebase is a form of good help.

It does depend on the product or service in question I think, maybe even the level of service you may pay for may come into play.

It depends on the site. If it's an educational site (like the physics forum), then the site shouldn't spoon feed you the answers.

Now if it's a hobby site, it would be nice if people would help you straight out. The website I go on for my car is really nice, but if you ask a specific question they usually won't set you up. For example, if you say "Can someone link me a good kit for the front bushings", people will usually just say what brands are good and leave it at that.
