Forget Youtube, you are in the best place.

You must start by telling what drive do you have. Have you open the console?

If not tell me the manufacture date (it's in the back of the console)

Just for anyone who might be wanting to change out/replace a broken drive or whatever, here is an old tutorial which will explain things much clearer for you all. This is the process i used like 20+ times to replace drives in customers boxes.

How to Replace/Spoof a Xbox 360 DVD Drive
http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-61.html

The tutorial linked above shows how to spoof a drive as another brand as well.

hope it helps - back on topic now!
