I found a I think 25ft extension cable and when I put it into my external to my pc it started to pop up a bunch of message telling me that I need to format it. When I pop in a 6ft cable it's fine. Is this normal?

Is it a powered Hard Disk or does it use the USB for power?? You would have to lose power over that sort of distance. Interesting, never had a 25ft USB extension.. lol.. Maybe try pluggin it into a powered USB hub. _________________________________________________________ HQ Network:

Yeah powered devices with own power sources should work off that.
