With another horrible xbox 360 ugh.... well Ill name the specs of the system itself. This console was made in December of 2005 the pro version. Now this xbox has had some beat and some tear on it but I only payed 40 bucks for it. Now the xbox is freezing alot during game play i play alot of halo reach and sometimes the maps do not load off my disc which kinda makes me mad lol. then when i go to play campaign the game freezes and so does the system itself. When i turn off the system it sounds like a jet plane had just landed.(it made that sound when i turned it off when it froze). Now what i was thinking was to get a whisper fan put it into the xbox and buy a new laser lens for the hatachi drive that is in it. But if you guys think i should do something else with it im open to any thoughts thanks X0333 Smile

Those freezings are symptoms of RRoD, either install X-Clamp fix or flash it and sell it

Well i was also wondering if anyone had tried putting the new gpu/cpu heatsinks on the old Xbox 360's? apparently they come from the newer Xbox's and work twice as good as the old ones? and do the xclamp with those instead of putting the old ones on there. Here is a link of that gpu/cpu https://secure.llamma.com/catalog/xbox-360-new-elite-type-gpu-heatsink-heatpipe-pr-918.html

They help and adding a small fan to the other heatsink helps to push the hot air out to the fan duct too. I also have those heatsinks for a lot Cheaper then what they want.

But my opinion Either have ms fix it and pay the $99 or go buy a new one that old of a console 2005 will just have problems unless you have ms fix it and they might just upgrade to a newer one as some people have had this done. As you are going to say throw $20 heatsink $20 xclamp fix kit or $40 to have them reballed. Might as well pay the $99 and you know its fixed by ms. plus they give extra 1 year warranty on top of it. or Sell it and get a new one people around my area selling slims for $150-180 brand new in the box lol.
