your capture device should be compatible with any capture recording software you like..

i would suggest VirtualDub, its great and FREE! I use tonnes of programs to get my HD videos looking good. takes hrs and hrs.

Roxio
Plus
Dont need a Video y splitter
No stutter when you first start recording
Can record virtualy any game console

Minus
Cant record PC without some serious adapers
No HDMI
Included software looks fancy but isnt

Dazzle
Plus
Can record from PC via Svideo or USB
Only 55 bucks with tax

Minus
Requires a y splitter
Included software is very slow loading (I started it went for a smoke came back and it was still loading)
No HDMI
On screen window size cant be changed forcing you to buy the splitter ($7) to see what youre doing

Ive done 5 or 6 videos now with each and overall Roxio is better. The main factor for me is size, a 4 miute vid on Roxio is around 300mb same one with dazzle is close to 1gb. In my case anyways this forces quality to suffer since to keep the upload manageable I have to reencode it as MP4. The Roxio ones I can do H264 or MPEG2 with no quality loss and keep the size down.
