My Xbox 360 Xenon JTAG is overheating, I have reflowed it and applied some new thermal paste, the Talismoon Whisper fans, the 12v Fan Patch Flasher (JTAG Only), the new heatsink's and I am still experiencing overheating issues. I have recently ran into the error E74, right when that hit, I knew something needs to be repaired ASAP. I repaired that, then after about 3 minutes of gameplay, again, E74. So I managed to get it running on the 4th heatgun attemp and now I am stuck here will a overheating Xenon JTAG. I would replace the GPU and ANA-HANA but I am for sure not sending my JTAG to anyone, or paying 3,000 dollars for a decent BGA Reballing station. No High Definition, XeLLous is Black/White and scrambled.

Well they do make a water cooling kit for the 360 if you want to try that. No one on this site has ever done it so it would be a first: http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=328

It's not a matter of keeping it cool. Something is wrong with it, as in the hardware. About 1 minute and it is at abnormal temperatures.

sounds almost as if your connection between the gpu/cpu and the heatsink isn't good enough, you said you reapplied thermal paste and all? did you make sure to clean each (the heatsink and the chip) with alcohol before reapplying? did you put too much thermal paste on thus creating insulation instead of connectivity? lots can go wrong with heatsinks if it's not properly done.

Yup, I know its all good for there. It's a hardware failure. Belive me. No High Definition, XeLLous is Black and White and Scrambled aswell.

I've heard sometimes the south bridge can go bad on the mobo from heat.

Yeah, because what I am thinking is that the GPU is failing me as it often shows sign of faiure. The odd time some textures dont get rendered.

If I was you at this point I'd send it somewhere and get it professionally reflowed. There is just a point where all xboxes die no matter what.

no good bud Sad e74's are a biatch imo and pretty much mean death Sad you might find a shop loco that has a true rework station and should only charge about 40-50 around there if they can fix it and if they are the good ones like the one by me they can do any of the chips from gpu cpu and the memory and hana all them Smile.
