I just got my set of X31 and love the sound i get from them, I do need to move the wireless router now since it makes a popping sound that drives me nuts.

All in all if you dont want to spend the 200 bucks on the 41 then go with the 31 since it still sounds 1000 times better then tv speakers. Wink

They do sound good from the description you gave, but to spend more on a set of headphones than i did on the 360!! Suggests the headphones are more technologically advanced than the 360 Laughing

Does anyone know of any good wired ones? I could probably justify spending £60, can you get them that cheap and still be decent?

check out Turtle Beach X1's. They're wired so the price point drops substantially (talkin 60 bucks canadian) but are fantastic. I've been using them for about 3 days now and are excellent. I live in an apartment and the people that live beside me are elderly and enjoy calling my landlord the second theres noise from my apartment ater 11 p.m. These headphones allow me to have the game volume as loud as I like at a price point my wallet agreed with.

I ended up buying a set of X41's.. They are nice.. Great surround sound but you can't really pump them up that loud without getting some sort of distortion..

I have pioneer 5.1 surround sound headphones (which they don't make anymore) and they are still the best in my opinion but for the money the X41's are near half the price so you would have to expect some sort of differnece i guess.

I still rate the X41's.. The best feature is the built in mic let alone the 7.1 surround.

if you crank them up too loud they end up hurting your ears

Mine are still going strong, still love em.

You can hear stuff you never heard before. E.g. I can be hiding in a house on BFBC2 capturing a flag and I can hear enemy footsteps running around looking for me. I can tell exactly where they are and how far away they are.

Very handy, especially when playing hardcore matches (no map)

@ Mattster,

Did you notice the audio quality difference between BC2 and MW2??
MW2 is just stupid,, you can hear things that are happening like 50 metres away but with BC2 you can only hear things a few metres away, makes things much easier when listening for your enemy.

Im still loving my X41's too mate, good value thats for sure.

MW2 throws my perception out the window

Like you said, you can hear stuff from an insane distance which is crap. You hear footsteps that you think is right around the corner and they are around the corner and down a hallway, just leaves you getting slaughtered.

BC2's audio is spot on, you can hear the depth. You know a gun fight is just over the hill so you dont go running in.

I've heard that the Astro A40's are pretty good but they feel junky and trittons arent worth the money.

I tried to get Astro to send me a set for a comparison review but never got back to me.

I've got some money to treat myself so i'm gonna get some decent headphones mainly for the xbox. I have come across the sennheiser rs180's and they do look nice and reviews are good too, they'll cost about £170.

http://www.surround-sound-wireless.com/sennheiser-rs-180-digital-wireless-headphone/

They take the 2 RCA connections so i cannot see how they are surround sound, i thought you would nedd an optical input, or do they just replecate surround sound... i can't seem to find the answer. Does anyone here know?

if it only has two rca lead inputs then it must have a pro logic processor in the head phones.

Id look for something with a fibre optic (toslink) input for true surround
