jesus 23gb.. lmfao.. Only other program i have used would be TVERSITY.. tversity can transcode on the fly but you'd need a pretty good machine like you already know.. Unfortunately i don't think they have a linux flavored install for it.. Sad

tversisty cant handle mkv on their own as far as i know cos ive got mate whove tried and it dont stream em.

Have you tried PS3 Media Server? Plays anything and also supports subtitles. You can set the video and audio quality you want to transmit to the xbox.

4 gigs took half an hour, so 20 might take a couple of hours, nowhere near 24 hours.

I have PS3 Media Server installed but that probably not the option, the movie has a bitrate of like 10mb/sec so transcoding and streaming at the same time.... maybe impossible.
