Hey there.
I open my 360 to adjust my X-Clamp fix. I didin't crack nothing cause i was untightening the screws.
I mount the console and i turn on the fans work for 1 second and then nothing works unless the 3 red lights and the power brick stays with orange color.
I tighten the screws again and I still got the same problem.
What may had happen? _________________

Are there any shorts any where? best places to look are
USB ports,
video cables
memory card
Also try putting the board out of the metal case on a non conductive material and turning it on then, see what happens.

keep untightening the screws half a turn each until the power supply goes green and either the 360 has RROD (thats lights 1, 3 and 4) with fans still going or the 360 is working again.
Once its working I suggest overheating the GPU by placing the fan on top of the CPU heat sink and the dvd drive. Heat the GPU until the heatsink on top of it is hot enough to make you go ow when you touch it. Then let it cool for 10 - 15 mins and all should be fine.
If you happen to get 2 red lights while doing this and the fans go off even after it has cooled down, tighten all the screws up to a snug point then turn it on you should have RROD (1, 3 and 4). Reapeat the process of the half a turn loosening until it turns on and is working.
THIS IS FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE ONLY IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU, EVEN THEN MY 360 ONLY WORKS FOR ONE TO 2 DAYS, THEN I HAVE TO MESS AROUND WITH THE SCREWS AGAIN. HOWEVER THERE IS A POSSIBILITY IF YOU GET YOUR SCREW PRESSURE JUST RIGHT YOU COULD HAVE A PERMANANT FIX.

Hell yah bro, it is working.
I untight a turn and test it out and... GRL (Green Ring of Life) the console is working.
I modded lots of stuff and i never saw such a behavior.
Today I am gonna to play a couple of hours to see how much it can stands.
You knows? Maybe I got a permanent fix. _________________

Yeah 360's are the most finicky piece of technology I have ever worked with. Hopefully you fixed it!

I played several hours this weekends and it is working.
Unless it is like the first time that lasted for 2 months... It may be permanent. _________________

Of course is not permanent... I am getting system crash with black screen, no red lights but it may be the start of a new wave RRD
I am going to open it again (Which is worse part, i hate open that stupid case) this time with check the screws pressure with voltmeter _________________

I put 3 1mm steel washers under the motherboard, and 2 on top.
My 360 felt like it was permanantly fixed until I got E74 after 5 days, so instead of having 2 washers on each screw on top of the motherboard I used 1 washer for each screw ONLY for the GPU screws I kept 2 for each screw for the CPU heatsink.
Tighten the CPU and GPU heatsink as much as you can and you should get RROD untighten the GPU screws ONLY, half a turn each until the 360 is working again.
Please note this is from my 360's own personal experience, it may not work for everyone as 360's are weird. These are the factors which I think may be the reason this wont work for you but you can try it anyway I think it would be a good idea.
The first problem I had with my 360 was the E74 error which caused my games to have some graphics glitches, a year later I did the Xclamp fix and got RROD every 2 days, Once I had done the Xclamp foix properly with the drilling of the case using only 1mm thick steel washers 3 under motherboard 2 on top for each screw.
I dont use Nylon or Spring washers because I think they are pointless, Just my opinion. I use 10mm screws instead of 12mm probably doesnt make a difference.
My 360 worked for 5 days then E74 something I havnt seen in a year on the console, so I took one washer each off the GPU screws and tightened it all the way up until RROD so I untightened them until it was working and now I have a
PERMANENT FIX (no idea how I know its permanent maybe its because I'v done so much trial and error things with the 360 that there cant be much more error I can do to fix it.
Ill keep posting to see how long it will last.
