Me and my wife are considering a change in life and are looking into applying for Australian residential status. Not sure where abouts we will end up if we are successful but we think Australia is the way to go.

This is obviously aimed at my Australian bredrins, but what is it like down under (apart from always sunny and hot) and where would you suggest a nice place to live?

Sounds like your one of those people that don't like to stay in the same place for too long.

Hey Div
Im from Newcastle which is on the coast of N.S.W and its a nice place to live (good weather, good beaches for surfing or fishing) there are a few HQ guys from Newcastle like -Hobbs-Monsterboy-DJB-Mattster-Hackergirl-TMS just to name a few.

I would recommend anywhere on the coast of N.S.W.or Queensland

Good luck with the move if you decide to come down under ,im sure you and ya Mrs would love it here.

Hey Div

Come to Newcastle bro, it is an awesome place to live.

There is heaps to do around town.

We are 1 1/2 hours north of Sydney, a stones throw away from the best vineyards in the world, the largest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere (if your into 4x4 driving) and like DOA (a fellow novacastrian) said, we have beautiful beaches, good fishing, to top it off it is the home of the HQ.

God I am starting to sound like a tourist information guide.

There is plenty of us HQ'ers around town to make you feel welcome champ

wow, interesting..

We have plenty of guys here who can give ya feedback about the area..Smile
Newcastle is nice and not far from just about anything.

Personally i would prefer to live at Nelson Bay/Shoal Bay myself which is about 40 mins North from newcastle and a huge tourist area.

We have fishing, surfing, camping and all the usual recreational areas u can dream of too.

keep us informed man,
