Interesnting your intercooler fans are diferent from mine.
Looking at the intercooler it wont seems to be easy to do what you did without damaging the fans.
About the hand made cooler i found a photo of someone that used wood to get it tight

Perhaps one day processors will not produce more than a couple degrees above ambiant air temp, or none at all, so we can do away with all the fans and cooling systems, That along with new types of flash memory will make completely cool and silent consoles and computers.

The point is that 360... 360 cooling system sucks... really sucks... thats what happen when you rush to realese something.
The xbox1 only use 20% of the fan speed and it was way more silent than 360... its a noisy machine
