Post subject: NME 2.0 Modded 360 on Xbox Live - Help

I want to know if it is safe to play on Xbox live with the NME 2.0 modchip on a real game, or do I need to do something special to not have the chip detected. I do not intend to play Live on "backups" regardless stealth patches that are out right now.

I know the chip has stealth capabilities, but I would like to make sure instead of getting banned when the possible banning might have been avoided.

So does anyone know if the NME 2.0 is safe to connect on Xbox Live (while playing real games), or do you need to disable something before you connect so Microsoft can't detect the chip. (I disconnect the Ethernet cable while i'm playing backups, just in case.)

Also, one more question to save a new thread topic:

Can anyone tell me, or link me directions to a guide that shows how to backup a normal Xbox game that will play on the NME 2.0 modded 360? This would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.[/b]

In answer to your question do not use your modded console on live unless you want to get banned! No matter what kinda stealth technology the chip has Microsoft employs some of the top programmers in the world. Unless you like playing Russian Roulette with your account I would seriously reconsider using your modded console to play on live. That is just my opinion though. Very Happy

osiris86,

The NME would be just the same as everything else. Sure they state it's stealth but there is no guarantees especially if you are backing up your own originals.. If you get one key wrong you will be banned.

The only reason you would need a modchip is so you can backup your own original games anyway to play offline or for the kids so they dont ruin them..

btw. We do not support piracy on HQ.

enjoy the site,

Yes, I am aware of the chip being used only to play backups offline. However; the NME 2.0 is not always active. You must activate the chip by holding the power button for a few seconds, otherwise the chip is not on. I was just wondering if you did not activate the chip, and you have a real game in the 360, could you go on live?

It's all in questions at this point. I have been on my hacked f/w for over 9 months now on the iextreme 1.2a and have been bann-free. Just use our cautions as a warning.

As for your question with the chip being installed and "turned off" while you have a original in the drive, if you turned on the chip while on LIVE your taking risks. But if it's been off the whole time while you been on LIVE I don't see anything wrong with that on how you could get detected.

Since the NME aSSociat0r copies the SS to a specific spot in the image (PSN 0xFC021E), i would think that Microsoft could run a check for that SS and be able to tell that it is a backup. (im guessing)

Team Underdog says at nme2.com that they are working on an updated version of the aSSociat0r which doesnt touch the splitvid section of the image (where it copies the SS).

So if they release that I'm assuming then that it will be safe (or as safe as iextreme) to play backups with the NME 2.0 on xbox live.

But then you will have to re-burn new backups.
