Twisted Evil getting the ring the of death code error 0102 witch isnt all bad if you know the towel trick wrapping 360 in towels and gaetting it hot is a temp fix thanks all guys at youtube but only temp fix need to send in to company but dont have box what could i do ive heard that microsoft will send you a box to snd to manufactor but how do i do that

When my 360 got repaired microsoft said do NOT send it in the original box .
I just bought a cardboard box and bubble wrap from the post office and sent it off in that.
And they also said take off your HD and faceplate.

there is a phone number in the owners manual. Call that and tell them what the problem is and they will either provide you with a fix or if it's the ring of death they will tell you to remove all the stuff off the console. In a few days you will receive the box they want you to send your console back in. Take that box to ups and xbox will include the shipping lable to put on the box. Ups will take it and ship it for you, and that's it. In a couple of weeks you will either receive your repaired console or you will receive a new one. I got a new one when mine crashed. But here's the deal, it may work fine for a week, a month, or a year. The good thing is you can send it back as many times as there is a legitiment problem, and you've not opened the console to try and fix it yourself. Don't try to open the console as long as you can get a new one back from microsoft for free in about ten days, if you can go to some friends house and keep gaming, you'll just have to wait.

they don't send you new ones they send you "refurbished" ones. when mine messed up i got a refurbished one and it worked for an hour and then i had to send that one off too...got another refurbished one and its worked fine for almost 7 months Laughing

Yeah I would never go with microsoft's replacement program again. Sure its free but you have to wait about a month to get a new box, and when I got mine it was a refurb and didn't work fully (dvd drive wouldn't open when vertical) So I sold that one and bought myself a falcon Smile

I bought a 360 off of ebay that wouldn't recognize wireless controllers and then called Microsoft on like a Friday and then recieved the box to ship it in on Monday and got the system back Friday of that same week so I have nothing but positive things to say about Microsoft's repair process. Smile Of course I only live like 469 miles away from the repair center also! Wink

Yeah I live in Canada so that might be why (damn you customs) I also think it is complete bs that they send you refurbs because #1 they don't even fully test them to work #2 you paid 400+ $ for this brand new next gen console and then when you get it replaced you get a refurb that isn't guaranteed to work, complete bs if you ask me Rolling Eyes

They're shipping time really wasn't that bad considering what they were having to do and just imagine all the boxes they got in? with so many boxes come in they're bound to mess a couple of em up. But I know if they messed up big time they would send you a free game. Also, with your refurbished xbox you get a free month of XBOX LIVE! Nice Cool i got two of em b/c the first refurb they sent me crapped out like after an hour of GH2 Sad
