Well,

after going to a hell of alot of trouble to setup my MCE machine to function correctly with my xbox 360 I just realised that the update that allows divx and xvid to play on the xbox 360 does NOT include the MCE (extender) portion of the xbox 360.

Wow, im shocked. So you can use third party applications to stream divx, xvid to your MCE machine but you still have to TRANSCODE if you want to use a legit MCE machine.. This is so lame man..

Now, dont get me wrong. I already use TVERSITY to stream everything to my 360 which is a free program (www.tversity.com) and it even streams internet video, .rss and everything. Who needs MCE apart from its pretty layout.. lmfao

anyway, just my 2 cents..

l8r all

Thats pretty ridiculous man. Just goes to show that M$ didn't think that one through. I'm guessing with the spring update they will add full divx support because it is probably the most wanted feature, if you find a fix be sure to let us know.

You can still install a third party plugin which will transcode XVID/DIVX (http://www.runtime360.com/) into a acceptable video format for streaming to xbox 360 but why bother really when TVERSITY does such a better job.

Shame TVERSITY couldnt someone intergrate into the MCE side of things.. It works really well.. (http://www.tversity.com).

Yeah I use TVersity, and with the sounds of MCE I think TVersity is the better choice.

hobbs just setup my xbox 360 and pc with tversity.
You dont need MCE anymore.. It would be nice i guess to have all those pretty icons for your movies etc but really TVERSITY kicks ass.

I use all three, so I can not use the poll but I happen to like MCE better. I hear all the issues people seem to have get it to work. I don't get it. MCE works fine and quick to setup for me on 2 totally different computers.

With all the crap you have to do on computer anyway, it didn't bother me to setup DivX. I know it would be better if it worked out the gate.

I think I like MCE better because I do like prettiness. Anyway, TVERSITY does work great so I do say use it for ease of use especially if you have trouble with MCE.
