My Burnout is just like that, but only because I moved the unit while it was in use. I've never heard of this problem without any moving of the system I have to say tho.

In fact my Burnout disc is worse than that and it still plays 100%. Smile

I see many post like this, One way to prevent this is to ALWAYS Lay 360 on SIDE, Never stand up to avoid scratched Disc.

Also, As far as Repairing the damage:

GameCrazy Connected to the HollyWood Video stores also Do a Very Professional Job Repairing Scratched Disc's.,

This is the Method I would Most Recommend, They use a Machine while You watch that consist of different Pads.

Course Grit
Fine Grit
Then
Buffing.

It only cost Like $1.50 per disc and the Ones I had run thru the machine had Deep Scratches that would not Load or Play and I thought were to far gone to be repaired.

The Disc Looked BRAND NEW when Finished, and Played Perfect!

Regards jfhi

It's a "flaw" in the console that Microsoft "failed" to consider and blame the user on their flawed design. The X-Box was made to be played vertical and horizonal. Law of adverages says if you place is vertical it WILL fall.

The only time I would ever have my console upright is if there was something to prevent it from falling over on either side of it.

Its a shame really as I see most of DecalGirls design are made to work best vertical.

It only happened to me once when I was playing Oblivion but it was still readable. So...I guess no harm done.
