  | Resident Evil 5 Gets A Staff Of 400 | |
Resident Evil 5 Gets A Staff Of 400 Published by: wes213 on Friday, September 12, 2008 Tagged: Xbox 360,
Once you read this article by gamekyo.com you should get the feeling this game is going to be huge and with a staff this big how could it not be, the article talks about how the Resident Evil 5 team is taking every step they can in order to hit a home run with this game and it sure sounds like there on the right path.
The gamekyo post reads as follows: Capcom has revealed some very interesting details about Resident Evil 5 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in its latest press release. Capcom wants to sell 2.3 million units of Resident Evil 5. "In addition to developing tools, we have also strengthened our game development structure. As more than 400 people including company employees and outside contractors are working on this particular title, we have reorganized the structure to assign appropriate human resources, manage development process and offer mental health care to staff in order to ensure smooth operation. Our belief while developing Resident Evil 5 was that no detail was too small when it came to graphics.". Capcom went to Africa to improve Resident Evil 5 graphics, "Our staff visited Africa, a new backdrop in the series, to experience the real Africa where the contrast between light and the darkness is stunning.". Capcom has also announced that Resident Evil series sold 34.5 million units worldwide.

  | Xbox 360 System update From Aug 6th | |
Xbox 360 System update From Aug 6th Published by: wes213 on Thursday, August 07, 2008 Tagged: Xbox 360,
I'm sure you all turned on your 360 and got the update on the 6th and if you are wondering what it was or why it was there since it obviously did nothing to change your dash at all then i got your answer right here guys, it seems the update was just a small bit of ground work to prepare your 360 for future growth.
Major Nelson has reported the following to clear it all up for us: "A few minutes ago, the team released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll recieve a prompt to accept this mandatory update. This update contains code to ‘prepare for future growth of the service.’ There are no other changes or enhancements in this update…in other words no new features."
"To be clear: This is not the new Xbox experience update. That will come in the Fall."
So to recap and beat the dead horse it was just some preparation for the fall update that will include such features as:
* Entertainment without limits: With LIVE Party, bring your favorite games, TV shows, movies, and pictures to life by sharing those experiences with friends, wherever they are around the world.
* Express yourself: With the new Xbox 360 experience, personalize your entertainment like never before. Create your own avatar, designed exclusively by Rare, and jump into a party with friends from around the world.

  | Resident Evil 5 Producer Comments On Racial Stereotyping (Again) | |
Resident Evil 5 Producer Comments On Racial Stereotyping (Again) Published by: wes213 on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360,
Poor Jun Takeuchi producer of Resident Evil 5 cant catch a brake on this worn out topic and ends up hit again in an interview with mtv.com's bloger known as multiplayer with the same old question and gets the same old answer but what i like about this and all the other interviews on the topic is the comment sections that goes with it, check it out.

Multiplayer: I know you talked about this at [Capcom's Las Vegas promotional event] Captivate, but I have to ask you: the way people talked about the game and some of the reactions of: “Oh, is this a racist game?”… A lot of that has died off. But we on the MTV gaming blog actually published one of these interviews that got a lot of the reaction. We interviewed a gaming journalist who talked about his feelings when he saw the trailer. And he talked about: “I don’t feel like anybody black worked on this game.” That was his gut reaction. And I’m curious if you had anticipated that kind of response, if you had foreseen that people were going to react that way — and how that reaction affected you?
*To answer the question that was posted on your blog, there are black members in the development team.
Takeuchi: No, we certainly didn’t anticipate the reaction. We were quite surprised by the reaction that came out. I think everyone understands that we never set out to with the intention to make anything that was racist — that was never our intention. We think it was a bit of a misunderstanding when we published the first images of the game back in the day. And we think that as we move along and allow people to see more the game and more of what’s going on and more of the story, people will get a better idea of the game. I think you can see that that reaction has started to die down a little bit. To answer the question that was posted on your blog, there are black members in the development team. We do have staff working on the game, who are aware of the historical background and we are constantly checking these kinds of things with them.
Multiplayer: Just one other question on that. You didn’t anticipate that kind of reaction. Has this experience taught you anything? A lot of people talk about how race is very much something that is discussed in America in a different way than it would be in Japan or even Europe. What has this experience taught you about how racial matters are viewed?
Takeuchi: Certainly the most important thing we have learned is that different countries do see the same things in different ways. I think it’s very important as we go along and start other projects to learn from other countries and learn from other companies who are working in the video game and entertainment sectors, learn from their experiences, and not have the same problems again. You know, we have had the reverse problem with some games in Japan as well. But we’re in the business of making entertainment. We’re not out to make anything to deliberately shock anyone, so I think we can take a couple of lessons away from this experience.
Check out the comments section after the story via the source link, i find it to be the best part of all the posts that have came out on this topic.

  | Chris Redfield Hates Black People | |
Chris Redfield Hates Black People Published by: gamexxover on Wednesday, August 01, 2007 Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360,
Remember the --George Bush Hates Black People comment a while back? Well looks like the finger pointers have a new guy to kick around. As if video games did not have enough haters and opportunists using it to further their own careers and Ideals, Well here comes another. Apparently our hero in Resident Evil 5 "Chris Redfield" is a racist, and the game is teaching young children that black people are evil savages and that white people need to dispose of them.
Well according to one web site anyway called Black Looks. I had seen this coming folks, as soon as I saw the trailer for the game, and here it begins, Surely the ACLU and Al Sharpton will be up in arms soon. Apparently the blood, gore and violence is not a problem, the problem is that the infected (some call them zombies) are all black (do to the setting in Africa) and the guy fending them off is white.

The author claims " This is problematic on so many levels, including the depiction of Black people as inhuman savages, the killing of Black people by a white man in military clothing, and the fact that this video game is marketed to children and young adults. Start them young… fearing, hating, and destroying Black people." Check out the BLACK LOOKS site to see for yourself..
Take a look at the offending video your self HERE.
Little update, Richard Windsor over at http://www.aeropause.com, voiced his thoughts, on this moronic blog posting.
Not only is her argument baseless and without intelligent merit, it is obvious she did not even bother doing any research whatsoever. So here are 5 reasons why her arguments are dead wrong.

  | Xbox 360 to hit shelves before Thanksgiving | |
Xbox 360 to hit shelves before Thanksgiving Published by: pirrup on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 Tagged: Gaming, Live Marketplace, Xbox 360,
' After months of intense industry speculation, Microsoft revealed late Wednesday the launch dates for its much-anticipated Xbox 360 video game console '
In an announcement at the Tokyo Game Show, the company said the new Xbox--Microsoft's entrant in the next-generation console wars--would hit store shelves in North America on Nov. 22, in Europe on Dec. 2 and in Japan on Dec. 10. The company clearly wanted to take advantage of the holiday shopping rush just before and after Thanksgiving in the United States.
"That's what you want to do to launch a console," said International Development Group market analyst Mike Sabine. "You definitely want to have it on shelves to enjoy the Thanksgiving shopping period."
Last month, Microsoft said the Xbox 360 would come in two flavors: a base model for $299 and a souped-up version with a 20GB hard drive and wireless controllers for $399. |
