Who would have seen it coming. Halo 3 is the most played game on XBL for the week of November 24th.
This could be due to a number of reasons. Broken Matchmaking for Gears 2, COD players are now split between two games or the drop in price of the Legendary Map pack for Halo 3.
Whatever the reason Master Chief has taken back the top spot.

In the past i made a few harsh comments about how all madden NFL games are the same unless you count the roster updates and i am now forced to change that point of view thanks to the guys at Kotaku who have spotted a major difference in the 09 ver. and it looks like this.
Kotaku reports: "Brett" is easy to spell. B-r-e-t-t. "Favre", not so easily. But to review: F-a-v-r-e-. Not "Farve". If you're a football fan, you should know that. And if you're EA, you damn well should know that — especially because he's the coverboy! Reader Devon points out that Brett Favre's name is misspelled in the collector's edition menu in Madden 09. That's a pic of it right up there. Well, at least EA didn't put "Brett Favor."
So with this obvious difference I'm sure to go get the 09 ver. ASAP, OK so I'm not going to but i still think this is funny.
Actually the demo has been out for some time now and no one can find it since it goes by the name Madden 08, OK so it was a bad joke but in a news post for pastapadre.com they are claiming the demo will be out August 1st and that the demo will be set up a bit deferent than what you have seen in past Madden demos.
The demo for Madden 09 will hit XBL and PSN on Friday August 1st. If you just can’t wait until August 1st the same demo (only for the Xbox 360) is available with the purchase of an NFL DVD that releases tomorrow the 22nd.
This will not be a typical demo. Instead of traditional gameplay with reduced quarter length it will feature time in the virtual trainer and then head into one of the “Madden Moments”, this one from the Super Bowl. Only the offensive team will be controlled (in this case the Giants seem likely). Commentary has been excluded due to demo size limitations.
The first real game play footage has hit the net for Madden o9 and i must say if this clip is a testament to the rest of the game i will just edit my players for Madden 08 on the Xbox 1 and skip it this year.
With the madden name getting so big that it has no real competition it would seem they have stopped bothering to make any real innovative moves and with no real NFL games to go against it they wont need to.
Since my opinion is not the sites opinion have a look at this footage and see if you can spot the things that separate 08 from 09.
I might be wrong here but is it really to much to ask that the Madden franchise (the franchise with all the money and big names) put out a game that really changes it up and makes the fans stop in there tracks and say "damn thats nice" in the same way Call Of Duty 4 made you forget what Call Of Duty 3 even looked like?
With all this out there I'm sure the true Madden fans will keep on buying the game and be happy with a new way to train your team or a new way to be the team coach but the same way salt will make a slight change to your mashed potatoes Madden is the same game it has been for some time now and my mashed potatoes are still just mashed potatoes, just saltier.
I know that I'm coming down harsh on this one but i feel that by now it should be so much more and if you feel that I'm wrong pleas post in the forum and let me know why, or just call me names.
Football fans get ready for a new season of sacks tackles and touchdowns in Madden 09 and we have the list of new options and content right here.
Madden football has been around for a long time now and I'm sure you all know that some times one season looks just like the last and i plan to fill you in on what will be different this year compared to last year with this list:
More than 85 new features and enhancements, (just the ones we know for sure)
Virtual Trainer tutorial mode. Described as: "Utilizing a holographic environment, this mode teaches gamers simple concepts about playing football and how to use the controls in quick, fun and stylized drills"
The game engine is "continually assessing the player’s performance and will adapt a custom experience to every type of gamer, from newcomer to the veteran Madden NFL player."
Madden NFL 09 will also feature a "network-inspired broadcast presentation" where Players will "benefit from the authentic football knowledge of an in-booth play-by-play and color commentary team featuring Cris Collinsworth and Tom Hammond.
Numerous graphical enhancements have been made, including "realistic weather and grass, sleeker player models and exterior stadium views."
Online leagues: "Avid Madden NFL fans can now take their rivalries online and compete in leagues with up to 32 teams. Online league play will feature in-depth stat tracking, player trades and a flexible scheduling option."
So now you know and knowing is half the battle. (Go Joe)
