THQ Is generating alto of hype with their new game Frontlines: Fuel of War and it's rumored 50+ man multi-player ability.
Even with the website saying 32+ for players on console it has done very little to slow down the rumors of a whopping 50+.
With a little digging in the dirt i found the press release for this and it reads as follows: "FRONTLINES: FUEL OF WAR WILL SUPPORT 50 PLAYERS ON-LINE OVER XBOX LIVE!
And it’s the first 360 game to do so, thanks to dedicated European servers"
"When Frontlines: Fuel of War launches across Europe on the Xbox 360 this Friday it will become the only first person shooter to offer on-line multi-player for over 50 players on a next-generation console. THQ and Kaos Studios have set up over 90 dedicated Xbox 360 multi-player servers across Europe and the USA live on launch day to support the most epic battles Xbox Live has ever seen…"
"The first map to support 50 player multi-player will be the Village. Starting out as an intense close-combat battle amongst the map’s numerous small buildings, the level can be literally blown apart piece by piece, transforming it into an open battlefield with nowhere to run or hide. As further dedicated servers are brought on-line to support the growing number of players, additional maps will be opened up for 50 player combat."
"The multi-player demo of Frontlines: Fuel of War is still available to download now from Xbox Live. This demo offers two intense maps and on-line support for up to 32 players, the most players ever supported by an Xbox Live Demo."
With Frontlines: Fuel of War hitting the shelves Friday for the 360 and PC we will soon see if the play will stay smooth with that many targets running around on your screen.
Are you guys ready for an openworld FPS with 50 online players?
The photo above shows how many players would be in the map at once (plus 1 taking the photo). Half of those guys will be real live players coming to take your bases.
50 is not promised for every map, only the largest, and only one map on launch called "the village". But thats still quite an achievement.
The Xbox 360 version will launch with 90 dedicated multiplayer servers across Europe and North America, with one map, Village, offering support for the full 50 players. As more dedicated servers are brought online, additional maps will be opened up for 50-player games.

Lock and load soldier! Its time to take the battle to your living room as the single player demo of Frontlines™: Fuel of War™ goes live on Xbox Live® Market Place.
Players will be thrust into the near future as they battle in an epic struggle over earth’s last oil reserves in this innovative new first person shooter from THQ and KAOS Studios.
Set in the near future, Frontlines™: Fuel of War™ asks the plausible question ‘what would happen if our oil reserves were about to run out?’. As man kind is starved of one of its most important resources two super powers face off over the last reserves in intense futuristic warfare. Starting on the oil fields of central Asia this game takes players across the globe and right into the heart of Moscow itself.
Created in collaboration with a team of military advisors this game features over sixty different weapons and vehicles all based on real world technology being developed by the modern military. Players will be able to take the war to their enemy using everything from guided smart bombs and remote control combat drones to the good old fashioned assault rifle. The unique Frontline mechanic employed in this game ensures that the gameplay is intense and fast-paced at all times as well as giving players the freedom to explore the maps fully.
The Xbox Live® Marketplace demo features the second mission of the single player game where players can experience the open world gameplay and hi-tech weaponry as well as the destructibility of structures throughout the maps. With complete freedom to complete objectives in any order and from any direction players will be able to replay this demo again and again as they discover completely new ways to reach their goal.
The finished game will feature a gripping and immersive single player storyline spanning eight vast missions and an exciting multiplayer mode for up to 32 players featuring a unique role and load-out system allowing players to customize their character to suit any situation.
So what are you waiting for? Download the free Frontlines™: Fuel of War™ demo now from Xbox Live® Marketplace and get right into the action! The full version of Frontlines™: Fuel of War ™ will be available for Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and PC in February 2008.
