Any fan of the Xbox 360 knows you will never be short of sports games to play. But which ones are the very best? From basketball to soccer, here is a look at our top five.
Trials Evolution
When the fast-paced Trials Evolution racing game came out in 2011, it was one of the best racing games seen in a long time, and it still holds up today. It received universal acclaim from critics upon its release. The object of the game is simple: complete the course as quickly as you can with as few crashes as possible. You will also have to avoid more and more obstacles as the levels progress. It is an old-school idea coupled with amazing graphics and smooth modern gameplay, and it is a heck of a lot of fun to play as you evolve through the trials of Trials Evolution.
NBA 2K11
The twelfth game in the NBA 2K series came out in 2010, and it ended up being one of the best basketball games available for the Xbox 360. Under a year after its release on various platforms, NBA 2K11 had sold 5.5 million copies globally. The basketball simulation game is great fun to play, and it is elevated to new heights by its realistic depictions of the National Basketball Association. There are modes where you can choose real or customizable players at different points in their NBA careers, and you can play through different simulated seasons. There are also two new modes in NBA 2K11 that focus on Michael Jordan. Although NBA 2K11 is arguably the best basketball game available for the Xbox 360, there are plenty of other exciting basketball games available on other platforms, including the hoop-tastic Basketball Star slot game at Casumo casino.
Madden NFL 15
The best Madden NFL game for the Xbox 360 has to be this one. This EA Sports football game was released in 2014. Madden NFL 15 is a return to form for the franchise. Longstanding fans of the series will love the gameplay and features, but the game is also ideal for anyone who has not yet played a Madden NFL video game. Interestingly, as with other games in the series, EA Sports conducted a vote for fans to elect the athlete who would appear on the cover art of Madden NFL 15. It was the Seattle Seahawks’ cornerback Richard Sherman who won the vote, and his teammates are also included on the game’s start menu.
Fight Night Round 4
The fourth game in the boxing series by EA Sports is the best of the bunch and packs a punch. It was released for Xbox 360 in 2009. Fight Night Round 4 contains 48 licensed real-life boxers, including Ricky Hatton, Mike Tyson, and Muhammad Ali. The game also improves upon its predecessor with new physics-based controls, a redesigned Career Mode, and a new Legacy Mode. There is also more focus on counter punching. Furthermore, Fight Night Round 4 was the very first game to include Flyweight and Bantamweight classes. In addition to featuring some of the best real-life boxers the sport has ever known, the game features 12 real arenas, including the MGM Grand and Boardwalk Hall.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2018
PES 2018 was the final game in the series to be released for Xbox 360 and PS3. It is also the last game in the series to feature Super Cup, Europa Cup, and UEFA Champions League licenses and the Borussia Dortmund partnership. So, it is a good job that the seventeenth title in the Pro Evolution franchise is arguably the best. The great thing is, every element that made the previous titles so good has been left untouched, while plenty of new features and modes have been added to elevate the gameplay. PES 2018 includes Random Selection Match, Online Co-op, new lifelike player models, and new menus with images of real players. When this game was launched, the online gaming magazine Gamespot called it the most satisfying soccer game ever made, and it certainly still feels that way a couple of years later.
Boxing junkies can rejoice with this new DLC pack for Fight Night Round 4. Some of the top fighters come together to create a great new experience.
Electronic Arts announced today that its first downloadable boxer pack for Fight Night Round 4 is now available on the PLAYSTATION® Network™ and Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace. Featuring Oscar De La Hoya, Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, and alternate versions of George Foreman and James Toney, the downloadable boxer pack retails for 400 Microsoft points and $4.99 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PLAYSTATION Network, respectively. Named the Game Critic Awards “Best Sports Game of E3 2009” and having sold over a million units in its first month*, Fight Night Round 4 has been winning over reviewers and fans since its release on June 23rd.
In addition to the boxer pack, EA SPORTS™ announced that a free downloadable game update that enables players to use the face buttons on the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 controllers to throw punches is also available now. A new demo featuring the button controls will be available to all Xbox LIVE and the PLAYSTATION Network users by early September. The 10 round demo will feature Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton as playable boxers.
Designed with a revolutionary physics-based gameplay engine, Fight Night Round 4 replicates the sweet science to an unprecedented degree of realism. Witness gloves grazing off an opponent as he dodges at the last second, or watch as a vicious uppercut rips through the block of a boxer who turtles for too long. With realistic physics, no fight is ever the same in Fight Night Round 4
With an out cry from the fans that there is need for a button set up in the controller configuration like controller setting 3 in Fight Night Round 3 EA has decided to drop a patch this September doing just that.
With out a doubt this is going to spark some arguments over rather or not this is fair to the online players that use the stick settings since a faster input method like the button setting is sure to be will give the player a huge advantage.
In a perfect world there will be the option to filter out the players using the button setting in online play but there is still no word from EA on rather or not this option will be available to the online players so it looks like a wait and see attitude is going to be need here.
Move over UFC with all your submission BS and make room for the real champion of fighting, the release of Fight Night Round 4 is damn near here and to hold us over the boys at LIVE have dropped the demo to keep us all talking.

“The EA SPORTS Fight Night franchise has always been synonymous with quality and innovation that raised the bar for the sports videogame genre”, said Kevin Wilkinson, Executive Producer, EA SPORTS. “EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 3 was a platform defining game as the industry transitioned to next generation consoles. EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 4 will change how boxing games are played and measured in the future.”
Featuring a re-written gameplay engine, EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 4 will add a variety of fighting styles and boxer differentiation to authentically emulate the greatest fighters of all time. Pressure your opponent with the brawling inside style of young Mike Tyson, bobbing and weaving to set up powerful hooks and uppercuts. Capitalize on Muhammad Ali’s reach, hand speed and fleetness of foot to bewilder your opponent with lightning fast jabs and straights from the outside. For the first time in history, EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 4 gives you the opportunity to pit these legendary heavyweights against one another and name a true champ.
No fight will be the same with an all-new physics-based animation system that recreates the full spectrum of true-to-life punch impacts, giving boxers a devastating arsenal of punches, blocks and ring movement. The new physics system allows for missed punches, glancing punches, knockout blows and for the first time ever, rough and tumble inside fighting. Fatigue, adrenaline, footwork and timing all come into play as you hammer away at your opponents.
EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 4 will be available for the Xbox 360™ system and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and ships to retailers in 2009. The game has not yet been rated by the ESRB or PEGI.
EA SPORTS™ is the leading interactive sports software brand in the world, with top-selling titles and franchises including Madden NFL Football, FIFA football, NHL® hockey, NBA LIVE basketball, NCAA® Football, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® and NASCAR® racing.
EA Canada in Vancouver has got the go ahead and it looks like they will be making Fight Night Round 4 for the 360 and PS3, like Fight Night Mike Tyson will be making his way back on the scene with this title.
Ea is reporting they have revamped the engine with such features as missed punches, glancing punches and the ability to get some up close and in tight fight action.
With a class act like Fight Night Round 3 to follow Round 4 better bring its A game since it will be going up against the new contending game by Don King and who knows with this game marking Tyson's come back maybe Lil mac will make a come back to, but i wouldn't hold my breath for it.
