There's two main types of Xbox 360 rumors these days. The first is the "price drop" rumor, which is often pointing to the holiday season, and consistently gets shot down by Microsoft. The second is the type that says that pricing will stay the same, but Microsoft is adding something into the mix, a la the latest HD-DVD rumor.

The most recent rumors revolves around the second type of rumor. This one says that no price drop is in the works, but that there's going to be a new "Xbox 360 Pro Bundle". This bundle will supposedly replace the Xbox 360 Premium Pack and stay at the current price of $399.

This package would contain a 360, 20GB hard drive, wireless controller, headset and Hi-Def component video cable, plus a copy of Project Gotham Racing, a three-month Gold subscription to Xbox Live and 1,250 XBL Marketplace points to spend on whatever your heart desires. August is the date being floated around for this to occur.

Microsoft in a move that would surprise only the most naive, has issued the standard "no comment".
