Microsoft and Xbox One

Microsoft teased about their new console, Project Scarlett, at the E3 2019. The console is set to arrive ‘holiday 2020’ the company says. The game supports SSD storage for faster loading times, 8K TVs and smooth gameplay at up to 120 frames per second. Moreover, Project Scarlett – and its profess increase in processing capability – is seemingly integrated to Microsoft’s xCloud game. Features on the service are lean, although Microsoft is gearing up to allow users to stream the games from either a user’s console sound or its Xbox powered servers.

Sony and PlayStation 4

Sony has begun sharing details about its new PlayStation 5, the successor to its PlayStation Pro and PlayStation 4 consoles. The new console could be available early summer of 2020, though the release date is likely considering its predecessor’s November inauguration. PlayStation 5 is expected to include some of its predecessor’s form of backward compatibility, meaning you should probably not sell your older game when the new game drops.

Google Stadia

Google Stadia is the search giant’s move in gaming. Unlike old games consoles, the games will be beamed on user’s screens over the internet while the Stadia games run on Google’s data centers. However, Stadia won’t be available for use until November, but gaming fans can pre-order a ‘Founders Edition’ for $129 only.

However, before getting started with Stadia, you’ll have to ensure your internet connection can handle the data-intensive service. A connection of at least 10 Mbps is recommended for streaming 720p quality while you’ll need at least 35 Mbps for 4K resolution. However, one con of Google Stadia is if your internet connection runs out, you won’t be able to play games for a while.
