Try-before-you-buy model now available for Burnout Revenge, coming later this week for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

Next-gen gamers on a budget have been able to breathe a temporary sigh of relief thanks to several Xbox 360 demos that have been free to download through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Demos are coming out almost weekly, giving potential consumers a chance to sample portions of games before dropping up to $60 on a game.

This week, a pair of demos from Electronic Arts hits the Xbox Live Marketplace, giving gamers a chance to try out next-gen versions of some games already released on current-gen consoles.

A taste of Burnout Revenge, which was released earlier this month, is now available for download. The Xbox 360 version differs from its current-gen counterparts with new online features, and the ability to record clips of the game's excessive car crashes. EA is also giving first-person shooter fans a free peek at another game from its library. A demo for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is scheduled for release on March 24, according to the game's official Web site. The demo will also feature the largest multiplayer support to date for the system, with 24 players able to play in the same game.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, which is rated T for Teen, is scheduled for release on April 11. Burnout Revenge was released on March 7 and is rated E10+ for Everyone Ten and Older. Both games are priced at $59.99.
