At PAX today Microsoft was asked about the supposed $1.2 million they lost due to the latest MSP exploit. The exploited algorithm allowed the unauthorized generation of multiple 160 Microsoft Point codes.

The Microsoft representative speaking in the video below then shared that Microsoft still know every gamertag that used the 160 point codes and will be keeping an eye on them. This can end up being a good thing for Microsoft after all. Since info of this exploit floated primarily around Xbox 360 and tech pirating websites, this may lead them to finding modified consoles and cheaters.

Microsoft's rep today said “This has shined a big bright light” on all the users who took part in the exploit.

"We take safety and security very seriously and require that Xbox LIVE members use the service in compliance with applicable laws and specifically prohibit people from engaging in illegal activity as a part of our Terms of Use and Code of Conduct," the statement continued. Our Policy and Enforcement team is evaluating whether or not certain individuals have violated the Terms of Use for Xbox LIVE and will take the appropriate enforcement on an individual basis."
