' CNN recently tested out how much power the Xbox 360 uses. '

“We tested the 'box using Extech's MA200 power meter, which gives real-time power consumption results. It turns out that the Xbox 360 draws about 160 watts of power, over twice as much as the original Xbox, which draws 74 watts, and the PlayStation 2, which draws about 50.”

Will this trend be common with the PlayStation 3 as well? Using current figures, the Xbox 360 uses 2.162 (repeated of course) the power as its Xbox predecessor. Applying the same calculations, will the PlayStation 3 use 108 watts? Power usage aside, what this means for you is that you will be paying an extra $10 to $35 anually (depending on your local prices and playtime.)
