GameStop: No More Original Xbox trade-ins from February 9, 2009

Gamestop will stop accepting all trade-ins of original Xbox consoles, games and accessories from the 9th of February 2009. All information comes from a leaked internal memo sent out earlier this week.

All Gamestop stores will obviously continue to sell Xbox remaining stock until there are none left, so get in store and buy yourself a original Xbox with some of your spare change so you can mod it up with a larger hdd (500gb) and use it as a Xbox Media Center to play all your DIVX, XVID and other Video/Audio content over your home network.

For all those users who have never owned an original Xbox I would definately suggest shelling out some dollars for a refurbished box. I have 3 now in my home all running media center (AID) and streaming all my content!

If anyone needs help with modding their Xbox so it can play divx/xvid please visit our xbox-hq.com forums. We can link you to our official HQ Auto Installer Deluxe DVD for free which will help you with the process and have heaps of members willing to help.

UPDATE:
EB Games Australia are currently selling reburbished Xbox consoles for $42 AUD.. Get in quick. Most come with the S-Controller (small) but some still have the larger and bulky original controller.
