Why a Case Replacement?
Ever since Xbox 1 and its huge success with modders, people wanted their Xbox to be unique. With the Xbox 360 it is no different. People still want to have unique Xboxs but some people (like me) have poor power tool usage, so XCM has made some replacement cases for us to throw on with ease. Although some people will say “won’t everyone have these cases,” but the simple truth is you can do so much more with lighting, these are just a baseline to start your modding.

Impressions
When I first opened the box I knew I was in for a treat. Every piece comes wrapped in a foam piece and a plastic protector (to keep it nice and shiny.) Along with all the standard case pieces there is the XCM opening tool which makes opening your Xbox 360 a breeze and it even comes with a Torx Allen key in case you don’t have a Torx screwdriver. If you have any problems removing your Xbox 360 case or installing the XCM one they offer instructions for both of them on one of their sites. Installation was very easy, I only ran into one snag (which was my fault) when installing it my Xbox 360 didn’t have all the case screws, so the DVD drive would not line up or open with the faceplate on. After stealing some screws from another Xbox 360 I found out you need at least 5 of your 6 case screws for it to work (as long as your case has them all you should be fine.) Installation of this product was very easy and is a nice touch to your 360.

As for the product itself it is very solid plastic, I would say it may be stronger than the standard Xbox 360 plastic. The only downfall with it being so strong is the faceplate is very hard to take on and off. Even on their website they do not recommend you take it on and off a lot. After taking it on and off a lot (to figure out why my DVD drive wasn’t opening, you can see the wear on the little clips but I doubt they would break unless you really yanked on it. I also wish they would have thrown in a clear fan shroud, although it is still a great product without it. Overall the product is of top quality and literally is crystal clear.

Final Score

Build Quality
: Top quality plastic that literally is crystal clear. The faceplate may be too strong for its own good, solid case.

5/5

Packaging: Great Packaging that keeps your case in one piece and prevents smudge marks.

5/5

Ease of Use: Comes with an opening tool and torx bit, great instructions on website. Very easy for the beginner Xbox 360 modder.

5/5

Overall: This is a great case and can be a great start to future mods. It really is crystal clear and would look great with leds in it. With a fair retail price it is worth the money.

5/5

Verdict: Highly Recommended
