I'm sure by now you have all seen, played or at the least know about Gears of War and its violent content and I'm sure they are not planing to tone it down for part 2 and if anything I'm sure they have cooked up a few ways to squeeze even more blood splatter out of the game

Now to the point, in a whattheyplay news post we find out that Gears of War 2 will be getting filters put in place to block out the blood splatter and cursing.

whattheyplay's report reads as follows: "Gears of War 2 will be released on November 7, but has already received an "M" rating from the ESRB, for "Blood and Gore," "Intense Violence," and "Strong Language." For many families, that may immediately eliminate it as a possibility as a holiday gift. However, a new point of negotiation will become a factor this year; Gears of War 2 includes filters for both the violence, and the language. Microsoft informs us that the violence filter "turns the blood into sparks," while the language filter "takes out all the swear words."

"Now parents will need to decide if chainsawing an alien creature in half is OK if it doesn't splatter everything with blood. If our kids feel that they "absolutely have to play this game!" will these filters make parents feel better about allowing the game into their house?"

I'm not to sure how turning the blood in to sparks is supposed to change the fact your shoving a chainsaw in to some ones back less violent but if it works it might be something the RockStar team needs to look in to in order to get some of these lawyers off there backs.
