While many of today's games tend to please gamers with their eye-popping visuals, there are only a few notable titles that really push the envelope and take advantage of the power offered by the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

This was the bold statement issued by developer LucasArts regarding today's games and how their upcoming title Fracture (PS3, Xbox 360) aims to outdo this standard by pushing the limits of the next-gen consoles.

It was previously mentioned that the game will pack in amazing features like terrain deformation, but few realize the amount of processing power it takes to make such an in-game mechanic flexible enough to be wielded by the players. Practically all the weapons featured in the game will have the ability to vastly affect your environment and use it to your advantage.

Here's a direct quote of a statement released by a LucasArts representative to CVG, describing the potential Fracture has in making its mark among similarly released titles in the genre:

While a lot of games are pushing the limits of what can be done visually in games, we also wanted to push gameplay to levels that literally could not be done on the previous generation of hardware.

To put it simply, Fracture is one of the few games that really takes advantage of all of the processing power of the new consoles.

We'll just have to wait and see how the final of the version Fracture will look like and if LucasArts will live up to its promise of delivering a top-notch game worthy of our respect. Keep coming back to this spot for more updates regarding the game.
