Australia Considering R18+ Classification

Today the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Australia may finally be considering a higher rating for violent video games Since the highest rating they have is MA15+.
This low MA15+ rating puts a lot of games out in the cold when it comes to the Australian game market, and I'm sure makes a lot of gamers pretty mad too.

The low rating system used by Australia now has stopped games like Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure (for promoting graffiti), BMX XXX (for sexual content) and Reservoir Dogs (for high levels of violence including the ability to shoot the heads off of hostages during a bank heist).
Once Mark Echo found out the news of his game ban he had this to say: "to blame gaming for everything that is inherently wrong in our homes, in our schools and on our streets is much easier to do than to actually figure out ways to fix the systemic problems that exist within our culture."

With what seems to be all major studies showing violent video games to have more of an impact then violent TV I'm sure this will be discussed at grate length.
Its not like the games don't make there way in to the country anyway right?
