American Independent Media Manufacturers Association have pledged their support for the HD-DVD format.
AIMMA is based in North America and consists of 37 members representing the majority of makers of non-theatrical pre-recorded discs.
In a recent meeting they had presentations by speakers representing both HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc in which they discussed the economics and efficiencies of transitioning to either format, including equipment costs and installation timing.
Due to the fact that HD-DVD uses pretty much the same hardware as current DVDs disc they opted to go with the HD format.
This can only be good news for the HD format which is not just limited to the Xbox 360.
