Brains behind the Games Published on 09-25-2010
" Ok, even though I have the body of an 18 year old (I keep it in the freezer, hehe) i have been on this planet for a lot longer than most other gamers I meet. Having arrived late on the gaming scene, the thing that I find staggering about the games I choose to play is how INTELLEGENT they are and how they are designed to help individuals grow. They appear to be designed around a philosophy of Positive Reinforcement - no matter how BAD you are with that controller, you will ALLWAYS make progress...now that may sound obvious, but LIFE isn't designed around the same principle. You can slog your guts out as a Salesman or Teacher and NEVER make progress, or indeed you may end of further down the food chain than when you first started. But in the gaming world, there is only one way and that’s up. Now that is “Fan Bloody Tastic”, because, if everything else in your life sucks, then the one place you can take control is in the gaming world and you won't be made to look stupid. The first ever game i played was COD MW2 and i remember getting to level 50 in the MP and i simply loved the levelling up. I felt I was making great progress and that kept me going. Truth was, my skills were not that great - one day i want to quick scope like the good guys, but alas, I probably will need a couple of reincarnations in RL to acquire that poetic and mystical ability - BUT even though i wasn't so hot a shooter, i had a fantastic time and so did the people around me - you know, the one's blowing my brains out from 10 miles away and the Ninja who stabbed me in the throat for the third time without me having a clue where he / she was coming from....Anyway, that’s my first thought...the Brains behind the Games appear to have Altruism pumping through their veins....they want players to FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES. If only your crappy boss in RL operated on the same basis, then life might not be so Shit for so Many. So the message to anyone getting involved in team play, keep up the spirit of the game designers – try make the people around you feel good about themselves – they may be CRAP at the game, but OMG you DO love killing them….lmao "

| NOOOOOOOO! Hobbs, I want Qucik Scoping to be easier for me and harder for everyone else. OMG...as a guy with some influence, i demand that you get onto the Black Ops people and DO something about it (haha). Hey, i really didnt expect anyone to read this blog, so the thought that you might actually be watching out for them, makes me chuckle. Probably you have to do it as a moderator, or something, but still, that makes you a captive audience..grinz

| I really think that's what makes gaming so addictive. Don't worry about quickscoping too much, i hear in the new Black Ops that they are fixing that glitch.. Well it will still be possible but just alot harder then it is already.
Nice blog.
