" wow this sounds really amazing, as i have said in a few topics ive been a believer that the future of gaming will eventually mean the end of consoles and the rise of a singular games console. By the sounds of this onlive service where you stream games, and is future proof as long as u reach the min spec is the start of it, im not sure exactly how it all works i will keep a very close eye on this project as they may just bring out a onlive console with no dvd drive and the spec to play these games! the future of media distrubition is the internet as per xbox live arcade, psn, etc! "

| | http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/page4.html#694246 is a must read for those interested, i can imagine taking my laptop (my mediocre one not my expensive one!) to a wi fi lan place and jamming some onlive, or taking my mini console to my friends with no need to carry games about with me, this is very promising, i know not everyone has internet but most my friends who are xbox live have internet if i go over their houses i know i can take this over, for under $100 and small enough to fit in a pocket this could be the eve of portable anywhere hd gaming! blatanatley if they do have some success the may bring a onlive portable gaming system! OP-Gs to rival the psp the applications of this technology is only limited by getting an internet connection and 3g has so much support now its not that hard to get internet anywhere in the world!

 | When I caught wind of the story I was thinking, Ok one of those gimics that probably wont even come out and if it did it would be a big disappointment. But after seeing the special on it on G4 today it sounds pretty sweet. They said you could have graphics, number of players, high Frames per second etc beyond what most of us could ever afford out of a PC and beyond any console because all the processing would be done on their super cooled super servers and the info sent out to us compressed to eliminate lag, they said lag might be about 1 millisecond at most. I am eager to try it out and already signed up to be a beta tester.

| | well, this generation at least i dont see it being adopted but if they perfect it for the next gen it might work, there already seem to be some quite big boys involved ie game developers not console makers, its going to give developers the freedom to release a game on live that will be accessible without the need to develop for seperate platforms with the cost of hd gaming this could have obvious advantages. They are going to have a classics library and if this means classics like street fighter 3rd strike, this could be very worthy of its own place in videogame history (unlike some previous attempts at a completely digital console!)

 | of course the future is digital distribution. XBLA, WiiWare & PSN have proved that. but this thing is going to be another dreamcast. If it was that awesome, you think the big boys of gaming wouldnt be jumping in and throwing cash at it like no tomorrow.
