Microsoft Calls Shenanigans On Blu-Ray Rumor AgainPublished by wes213 on Thursday, April 03, 2008 Tagged: Hardware, Media Center, Xbox 360, Guess what boys and girls, Microsoft has jumped in to let us all know the new Blu-Ray rumor i posted on Tuesday, April 01 @ 12:08:57 EDT was just as good as an April fools joke.
Keep in mind i did say "you can take DiGiTimes super secret sources word for it or be like me and assume its a bunch of B.S. until you see the ads running for it on TV" so you had to know this follow up post was coming real soon.
Microsoft had a little sit down with techradar.com and told them “No. Lite-On is not manufacturing Blu-ray drives for Xbox 360. As we have stated, games are what are driving consumers to purchase game consoles and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster game available."
"For our customers who want a premium movie experience we offer the largest library of on-demand HD content available and the ability to play back DVDs in high definition.“
That sounds like the Microsoft i know but just to bust us in the chops yet again they turn around and finish out the news post with this little fun fact: Jon Hicks, editor on Official Xbox 360 news told us earlier: "I'm not surprised. If they were going to announce something like this then they would certainly not do it right now. As I've said in the past, they haven't ruled out Blu-ray on 360 and if we ever were to see anything, then I would imagine it would be announced much nearer to Christmas."
So the the lame cycle of yes it is no it is not starts all over again and we end up right where we started so one more time I'm going to end this one with assume its a bunch of B.S. until you see the ads running for it on TV.
This is my last 360 Blu-Ray post till i have one in my hands and even then i will wait for a few days to make a post on it in case Microsoft decides to come in and take it back.
