At least seven former members of Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward have now joined the studio's fired founders at their new venture Respawn Entertainment.
After Activision fired former Infinity Ward leadership Jason West and Vince Zampella, a steady stream of senior designers, programmers, artists and other employees have turned in letters of resignation. All of them have been quiet about their future plans. It's been widely speculated that some would follow their former studio heads to their new company, Respawn Entertainment.
UPDATE 6:05 PM: Ding. Another ex-Infinity Ward developer has landed at Respawn Entertainment. This time, it's former lead designer Mackey McCandlish, who I'm informed announced his news over Facebook.
UPDATE 5:25 PM: One more. Programmer Jon Shiring has confirmed he's joined the studio over Twitter. "I have accepted a job with Respawn Entertainment," said Shiring. "I can't wait for May 1st!"
UPDATE 4:13 PM: And then there were five. Former Infinity Ward software engineer Rayme C. Vinson has also joined Respawn Entertainment, according to a Facebook status update. Vinson's update says he starts work at Respawn Entertainment on May 1 and will perform the same development role at the new startup from West and Zampella.
UPDATE 4:04 PM: Todd Alderman is not alone; we have three more Respawn Entertainment recruits to add to the list. Former Infinity Ward lead animator Mark Grisby, lead environmental artist Chris Cherubini and lead animator John Paul Messerly have all joined Respawn Entertainment under the same roles, according to updated Linkedin profiles.
Bright Falls, the chilling live-action film prequel to Alan Wake, premieres exclusively on April 25th on Xbox LIVE and at BrightFalls.com on April 27th.
Microsoft hopes TV fans will find this six-part series evokes the same ghostly chills as Twin Peaks did when it premiered 20 years ago this month. Shot on location in Oregon, Bright Falls is directed by Philip Van, whose short films have won over a dozen awards in festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and more. Bright Falls also features notable actors such as Tom Noonan who recently appeared on FX's Damages, and Cooper Huckabee who joins the cast of HBO's True Blood this season.
Alan Wake is a bestselling horror writer. Early on in his career, his fiancée was his muse. Just prior to meeting her, he had started to see strange dreams which he used as material for his first book. The book was a big success, a dream come true. But then Wake’s fiancée vanished without a trace. Wake was devastated. He couldn't write anymore, his dreams stopped and he began to suffer from insomnia. At the beginning of the game, Wake travels to a sleep clinic to seek treatment for his condition. The secluded clinic is located near the small town of Bright Falls, Washington, far away from the stressful urban lifestyle. Receiving treatment at the clinic, Wake is able to sleep again. At the clinic, he meets a mysterious woman who is the very image of his missing fiancée, uncannily so. At once, his dreams return, this time as terrible nightmares. Wake begins to write again: a new book based on those nightmares. But something is horribly, horribly wrong. Impossibly, the town of Bright Falls starts to change to something awful that bears a close resemblance to Wake’s new book. Wake ends up fighting for his life with a gun and a flashlight in his hands, trying to understand what’s happening.

Ignition Entertainment today revealed that Blacklight: Tango Down, their recently announced multiplayer shooter, will have a co-op mode called Black Ops.
Ignition Entertainment, a UTV Media Communication Company, and Zombie Studios have announced that Blacklight: Tango Down, the upcoming downloadable first person shooter, will include a full co-operative gameplay component – entitled “Black Ops” – in addition to the game’s already robust line-up of competitive multiplayer game modes.
Blacklight: Tango Down is an AAA-quality first person shooter that will be released exclusively through digital download channels for an expected price of $15. The game will be released this summer through Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®Store for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and on personal computer.
“With Blacklight: Tango Down, we are raising the bar for what gamers can expect from DLC, with the kind of experience that traditionally is found in a $60, AAA retail game,” said Ajay Chadha, President of Worldwide Publishing, Ignition Entertainment. “Cooperative play is a critical part of today’s multiplayer experience, and Blacklight: Tango Down will deliver on this fun and dramatic way to play alongside three of your friends. This kind of elite content is what separates Blacklight: Tango Down from other DLC and makes it the most fully featured downloadable-only shooter available on any console or PC.”
The cooperative “Black Ops” portion of Blacklight: Tango Down is a truly intense and exhilarating experience where players deploy as the Blacklight faction, fighting their way through the dilapidated streets of Balik to confront and defeat soldiers from the opposing faction, The Order.
Black Ops missions will increase the deep replay value of the game by offering upgrades, character growth and more to those who choose to take the cooperative battle. Upon completing Black Ops missions, a player will receive a completion score that varies based on the difficulty setting, overall performance and time the player needed to complete the coop mission. Players can then replay the scenarios, perfecting their assault, in a quest to reach the top of the Black Ops leader boards, gain additional XP to grow their character, and earn new weapon tags.
