Microsoft launches next wave of Platinum Hits so gamers can choose from more great games at new low prices.
From gamers looking for fun with the family — such as volleying with tennis pros— to those who want hardcore action — such as leading an elite Ghost Recon squad equipped with cutting-edge weapons and communications systems — anyone in search of a great game experience can find a blockbuster title with Platinum Hits for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system. On the heels of the expanded Platinum Hits launch in Europe earlier this month, Microsoft Corp. today announced that the next round of titles in the Xbox 360 Platinum Hits library will be available March 16 in North America, Latin America, Japan and the Asia Pacific region.
“Platinum Hits not only lets gamers enjoy a broad portfolio of titles at an amazing price,” said Jeff Bell, corporate vice president of Global Marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “It also ensures that existing and new gamers alike can get the most from their Xbox 360 by owning a great library of blockbuster hits. So if you missed playing a game the first time around, now there is a great reason to pick it up.”
The Xbox 360 Platinum Hits program, which launched worldwide last fall, gives people access to great games at a great value. And now with more than 10.4 million Xbox 360 consoles in living rooms around the world, there will be plenty of new console owners eager to jump into the best-selling Xbox 360 games. In fact, the Xbox and Xbox 360 Platinum Hits program accounts for more than 16.3 million games sold worldwide. A full list of Platinum Hits titles available in the U.S., Europe and Japan is available online at http://www.xbox.com/platinumhits
We just received word from EA that they are in fact releasing Mercenaries 2 for the Xbox 360. There have been rumors about this release for quite some time, even as far as going with it being an Xbox 360 exclusive. We are proud to release the latest Press Document by EA stating that not only is it coming to the PS3 as originally announced, but also PS2, PC, and Xbox 360. It is always nice to see games come to our platform of choice, I can't wait to try this game out.
EA AND PANDEMIC STUDIOS ANNOUNCE DEVELOPMENT OF MERCENARIES 2: WORLD IN FLAMES ON FOUR PLATFORMS
Blockbuster Title Shipping Holiday 2007 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2, in Addition to Previously Announced PlayStation 3 Version

There’s a reason why gamers choose the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller over other gamepads; it delivers a mean combination of precision, speed and accuracy. Windows gamers can take advantage of the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and other Xbox 360 wireless accessories with the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows, which is now available on store shelves.
As a great gift for yourself or for fellow gamers, the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows costs $19.99 (MSRP) and is available at retailers across North America including, GameStop, Wal-Mart and Circuit City. For gamers that need both a wireless controller and receiver, Microsoft is offering the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows which includes both the receiver and controller in one package for $59.95 (MSRP).
The Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows opens up a whole new world of Windows gameplay by allowing the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, Xbox 360 Wireless Headset and Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel to work on any Windows Vista or Windows XP (SP1 or higher)-based PC.
Not sure which games support these accessories? You can be confident that all Games for Windows branded titles natively support the Xbox 360 accessories when applicable. Additionally, you can easily map button configurations for any game that enables gamepad support.
What else can you do with the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows?
When you use the Xbox 360 Wireless or Wired Headset with the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows or the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, it will be recognized as a second sound device. That means you can configure the headset in games that use voice communication or voice over IP programs. For example, in Games for Windows title, “Flight Simulator X,” you can output voice communication and radio chatter through the Xbox 360 Wireless or Wired Headset, while still hearing the airplane noise through your main speakers – just like a real cockpit!

Calling All Agents: “Crackdown” Now on Store Shelves. Crime lords of Pacific City are on high alert as “Crackdown” hits retailers nationwide.
Microsoft® Game Studios today announced that the highly anticipated action title “Crackdown™” is now available on store shelves. From developer Realtime Worlds and the mind of acclaimed creator Dave Jones, “Crackdown” is currently setting its sights on retailers across North America.
Gamers have already made the “Crackdown” demo on Xbox Live® Marketplace the most downloaded demo within the first 24 hours as well as setting a record for total downloads during its first week of release. Since then, the demo has garnered nearly 1 million downloads in less than a month as gamers everywhere have been eagerly waiting the day that they can fully experience this nail-biting, action-packed title.
“Excitement generated by the demo on Xbox Live Marketplace, and the resulting flood of community-generated video that gamers have created, has led ‘Crackdown’ to become one of the most anticipated games of this year,“ said Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of Merchandising at GameStop Corp.
“Crackdown” is also one of the three ways to gain entry into the highly sought “Halo® 3” multiplayer beta program. All copies of “Crackdown” available at launch will be specially marked with the “Halo 3” multiplayer beta sticker. Gamers will be able to use their retail copy of “Crackdown” to gain access to the beta when it becomes available later this year.*
From Realtime Worlds, “Crackdown” pushes the action-driving hybrid genre into the next generation with the first-ever truly 3-D playground. Gamers will level up their Agent’s strength, agility, firearms, explosives and driving skills while scaling the fully vertical world of “Crackdown.” This M-rated game incorporates revolutionary cooperative gameplay throughout the entire free-form campaign.** Creating a volatile *****tail of judicial oppression, players will clean up the streets of a truly interactive world when “Crackdown” hits store shelves with an estimated retail price of $59.99.
