' So what's happened since E3? Why has all the hype, all the 360 noise disappeared? Will Xbox 360 games look any better? And are Xbox fans doomed to have PS3 fanboys laugh at their underwhelming new system? '
IGN has spoken with several developers on the subject of the newly released Xbox 360 Beta Kits to get a better idea the progress developers have made sine E3, and whether the beta kits have helped, hindered, confused, or improved game development.
We asked several developers what they thought of the Beta Kits. Epic Games' Mark Rein was frank with us but slim on details. When asked about the power of the system, he said the best example of that was Gears of War. "You've seen the answer to (all of your) questions. It's called Gears of War. What you've seen is just a tiny sample of what we'll be able to achieve in our first generation Xbox 360 title and clearly we're pretty darn excited about it. More will be revealed over time." Other developers were more forthcoming.

The rumor first came to my attention in this months GI (Game informer) as they spoke of supposed Halo 3 leaks- i found more information on the matter.
Here are some RUMORED specs to the new Halo 3 game for the Xbox 360:
* Dark & gritty storyline
* Online co-op campaign for 2+ players
* Multiplayer bot scenarios
* 50+ players on Live!
* New editions of Zanzibar, Sidewinder &
Hang Em High
* Map editor
* Movie editor
It seems Bungie has adressed the Modding community by allowing custom content that can be shared through Xbox Live. Also, a movie editor? Perhaps for Mechenima such as Red V.S Blue. All this is now posisble thanks to the new Xbox which is a power house compared to its basis( The Xbox). Which is what would allow 50 + players to go online, or even smart bots. We'll have to wait and see what the future has in store for us.
There is word going around saying the 360 will not luanch alongside with the American and European releases. Agian, no offical word from M$ on the matter, but speculation has it at there just arn't enough consoles in manfacture to luanch there, or not a big enough game luanch. The new luanch for the 360 in Japan is set to March of 2006, around the same time as the luanch of the PS3. This is a serious blow for Microsoft, as most of the market in Japan is towards the PS3 there is no chance of the 360 selling alot of units beside the new era of playstation.
' The guys over at the french Xbox website xavbox.com posted a picture of what looks like the Xbox 360 motherboard. This could be a picture of the Xbox 360 beta dev kit or a picture of the Xbox 360 test unit '
The site also informs that under the leftside fan you have the ATI R500 Xenos GPU and under the rightside fan you have the 3 core (update: or 2 core for these beta boards according to teamxbox.com) IBM PowerPC CPU.
The picture matches the general look/design of the motherboard showed in the ourcolony video back on May 12 when the Xbox360 was first officially presented to the public.

The Xbox 360, a next-generation game console that Microsoft plans to release worldwide at the end of this year, will come equipped with an age restriction feature, it has been learned.
If the age of children using the console is entered in advance, software that has an age restriction above that age cannot be viewed. The Xbox 360 is reportedly the first home game console to provide such a feature.
