"Blue Dragon" is another one of those great RPG games we love to play. The story line has it's own unique twists and turns that puts it in an RPG class of it's own. A great game to play with hours of entertainment
Overview “Blue Dragon” is centered on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends. These unlikely heroes possess miraculous strength and magical power to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters.
Gameplay - 8/10
As most RPGs are, this is a single player game, with no co-op X-box LIVE. The twist with this game, is you don't have weapons, you have Shadows, but don't worry, these Shadows are more than enough to keep you alive and fighting. Throught the game as you level up, your Shadow levels up as well. As your characters level up, their Shadows are able to take on different job classifications, ranging from Mages, to Warriors, to Assassins. Depending on which job you pick, will also chose which attacks, or healing magic, you are able to use. But don't worry, if you level up one job class enough, there are ways you can change your job, and still use the previous moves, another great perk this game throws at you.
You may have seen this coming, but there's always a catch. The main story line usually takes about 40+ hours. HOLY CRAP! Even though it seems so long, you will get lost in the side quests and looking for everything, that before you know it, you've put 90 hours into this game. The replay value is pretty good, considering that you can go through and do things differently every time.
Graphics - 7/10
Like most RPG's, "Blue Dragon" has a childish look to it, but don't let that fool you. With the vivid colors and amazing item designs, you won't be able to look away. Featuring character creations from Akira Toriyama, the same person who created the "Dragon Ball Z" characters, you know for a fact that there is going to be something about each one of them you can't help but love. The battles you encounter look sharper than ever as well.
Sound - 10/10
If you like the music from the "Final Fantasy" games for the PlayStation, PS2, and all the Nintendo alternatives, then you will love the music in "Blue Dragon". From the same composer, who is no doubt Nobuo Uematsu, music has been created just for this game. Yes, sometimes the music seems repetitive, but just when you think there is no more, a new sound rings in your ears, and you can't help but turn the volume on your TV up, and drown out the sound of every day life.
Overall - 8/10
If your an RPG fan, "Blue Dragon" is the game for you. It gives you your fix of being the hero and making decisions, and choosing when and how your going to attack. If you play them to witness a new story unfold, or if you need to find everything and be the biggest baddest RPG player around, this game will definitely be a fun challenge for you.

The main character of this cleverly designed game gets to swing around using his tongue and inhale grubs and other bugs, but it's a whole lot more pleasant than that.
